City Clarifies Vendor's Right to Sell Merchandise

Staff Report / PalmSpringslocal.org

The City of Palm Springs has acknowledged the presence of a vendor selling political merchandise on city sidewalks, following several complaints from residents.

Officials have confirmed that the vendor has the appropriate business licensing required to operate within the city. They emphasized that selling political merchandise is protected under the First Amendment and state law, irrespective of the vendor's political stance.

City authorities noted that like any other licensed business, the vendor must comply with all city regulations. They stated that any violations will be handled accordingly.

Residents are thanked for their understanding as the city works to uphold the rights of its citizens along with the regulations that govern the community.
