**City of Alexandria Adjusts Warming Station Hours of Operation**
The City of Alexandria has announced that the warming station at Bolton Avenue Community Center, located at 315 Bolton Ave, will cease operations effective Saturday, January 11, 2025. This decision comes as weather forecasts predict a substantial improvement in temperatures, reducing the need for the warming station.
City officials have closely monitored weather conditions and determined that the likelihood of severe cold has significantly decreased, ensuring safer conditions for residents. The warming station was established to provide temporary shelter for individuals during extreme cold weather.
Throughout its operation, the Bolton Avenue Community Center served as a safe space for those in need, with assistance from partner organizations such as the American Red Cross, Volunteers of America, the Central Louisiana Homeless Coalition, and Manna House. The city extended its gratitude to all partnering organizations, staff, and individuals who contributed their efforts to support this initiative.
