PSUSD Celebrates Student Achievements at Event

Palm Springs, CA - The Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) hosted a State of the District event titled "Going the Distance" last evening, attended by several hundred community members. The event featured performances by the Honors Singers, under the direction of David Green, and showcased student entertainment, including participation from the DHSHS Jazz Band, DHS Marine Corps JROTC, PSHS Dance Team, RME student Ariabelle Laxamana, and PSHS Ballet Folklorico.

A highlight of the evening was the recognition of students with perfect attendance from the previous school year. One student from each of PSUSD's schools received a special award from Do The Right Thing, an initiative led by Terri Ketover. In total, 499 district students with perfect attendance were honored with certificates and t-shirts.

In addition, PSUSD announced its partnership with Fuego from the CV Firebirds to join an anti-bullying program. The event also featured photography and videography contributions from students in the PSHS Film Pathway.

An event video will be shared on the district's social media in the near future for those who were unable to attend. The gathering took place at the PS Richards Center for the Arts.
