Palm Springs Police Department issued a “traffic stop alert” involving Patty Cakes Pierre, saying officers stopped her earlier this week for an alleged case of excessive enthusiasm and a heavy foot on the accelerator.

Police said the reason for the visit was tied to an upcoming fundraiser featuring Patty Cakes and the Brothers of the Desert.

The department said the “Not So Newlywed Game” will be held on Saturday, June 20, at 7:00 p.m. at the Center for Spiritual Living Palm Springs, 2100 E. Racquet Club Road.

According to the post, the event will raise funds to support the Brothers of the Desert, the Palm Springs Police Department, and the Center for Spiritual Living Palm Springs.

The department said it plans for the fundraiser to bring the community together for an evening of laughter, connection, and friendly competition, and it thanked Patty Cakes, the Brothers of the Desert, and people who support local organizations.

Police said they will “let Patty Cakes explain” the traffic stop.
